Woman shot on Main Street in Worcester

Police are investigating a shooting on Main Street in Worcester where several witnesses say shots were fired outside compare foods at around 7 p.m.

Sources say the victim is a 34-year-old woman who suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

She was rushed to UMass Memorial Medical center and there is no word on her condition.

Police closed a portion of Main Street as well as a four block radius around the scene of the crime while they investigated.

Police say this man gunned down two sisters - DORCHESTER - Boston police asking for help to find an accused double murderer. Investigators believe 30-year-old Jean Weeven Janier killed two Roxbury sisters back in November.

Church sells silver for $1.7 million

DORCHESTER - A Dorchester church raked in $1.7 million dollars but the needed cash came at a steep price. The First Parish of Dorchester was built in 1631 and has a very impressive colonial-era silver collection so they decided to put 27 pieces up for auction through Sotheby’s.

Mass. gas prices edge up another 2 cents

BOSTON - Massachusetts residents are paying two more cents a gallon at the gas pump, the seventh consecutive week of increases. AAA Southern New England reports Monday that self-serve, regular is up to an average of $3.49 per gallon, 12 cents higher than a month ago.

The Sargent Memorial Library in Boxborough will present Teddy Roosevelt: Mind Body and Spirit, on Tuesday, February 28 at 7:00 pm. Actor and author Ted Zalewski brings to life one of America’s greatest presidents. Combining history, drama, and fun, TR gives voice to many of Roosevelt’s own words, writings, and beliefs. Cowboy, soldier, naturalist, historian, father, statesman, and winner of the Nobel Prize for Peace, Theodore Roosevelt lived a life that inspires us still. Get ready for a “bully” time with Teddy Roosevelt: Mind, Body and Spirit. A video of Ted Zalewski’s performance has been permanently placed in the National Archives, Washington, D.C. He has appeared at a number of Presidential Libraries, including the Reagan, Ford, and Hoover libraries. He has appeared at the White House, the Smithsonian Institution, and The National Theater.

It is being put on by the Chinese Brush Painting Group, which will also present a Chinese Brush painting workshop on February 18, /2012 from 1:00pm to 2:30pm at the library including a brief Chinese brush painting overview and demonstration.
